Adriano was raised in Italy,
the country that gave the world espresso as we know it. Adriano
has years of experience making espresso. During his obligatory
tour of duty in the Italian military, he worked as a barista
in an Officers Club. He also managed the espresso bar in his
family's pizzeria in Italy and at an Italian restaurant in
the Washington DC metro area.
Kathy developed her espresso habit while living in Italy
where she taught English for three years. During breaks, she
worked at a bar/gelateria and at a restaurant in Italy. Upon
her return to the US, she was relieved to find that the cappuccino
craze had caught on here.
They met in the Washington, DC area and were married in 2000.
Sadly, they did not know about espresso bar caterers at that
time. To the dismay of their Italian relatives and friends,
only American coffee was served at the wedding reception.
